Starting a blog (cause I was told I had to)

So here I am, spending all sorts of money on a domain name (which is pretty catchy) and hosting from squarespace and all that.  Why?  Cause I was told I'm supposed to

What am I going to be posting here?  Well that's a good question.  I suspect that it will include some musings on whatever happens to be on my mind at the time, my experiences as a dad, professor or a writer, and a healthy dose of self promotion.  I mean this is costing me a hundred fifty bucks a year, and even if it's tax deductible (and you can be damn sure it's tax deductible), I'd like to make a little scratch off it.

So that's all I've got for this first post.  The book is coming out in August, and I'm headed out to San Diego for Comic Con next week.  I suspect that there will be all sorts of things I can post about from there.  There's nothing like geek conventions to really bring out the bloggable content.
